1964 Rickenbacker 4001 Deluxe in Fireglo | Overview Offering-up an extremely rare 1964 4001 Deluxe. I believe this to be only the second production year offering the checkerboard binding and full-width Mother of Pearl inlays on this 'Deluxe' model. Other notable features are the plexi truss road cover, magnetic horseshoe pick-up, toaster neck pick-up, and gap-toothed sand cast bridge. Details: Owned since 2008, purchased from another Rickenbacker collector, it has been a 'case queen' in my possession. Cosmetically the instrument has been rated an 8.25/10 and is quite clean for a 55 year old piece. There are some nicks on bumps on the body, most notable being the sizeable chip out of the headstock point. Deep Fireglo finish is period-correct for this era.
